CEO & MD

Mazin Baghdadi is the CEO and MD of Alinma Investment Company with over than 22 years of comprehensive experience in investment field. He is also a board member of Jabal Omar Development Company. Prior to joining Alinma Investment in 2016, Mr. Baghdadi served as a Head of Investment Management for HSBC Saudi Arabia. He also has managed both local and GCC mutual funds, and discretionary portfolios in equities and fixed income throughout his career. Earlier in his career, Mr. Baghdadi held different positions in investment companies and banking industries including Riyadh Bank and Saudi Fransi Capital.

Mr. Baghdadi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM). He also has attended several executive education in management including transitional to General Management Programme at INSEAD.

Chief Governance Officer & Secretary of the Board of Directors

As Chief Governance and Secretary of the Board of Directors, Thamer Bin Moammar is responsible for all of the company’s governance functions, including Legal & Sharia, Compliance & AML, and Risk Management. His career spans more than 20 years of varied experience in the investment field. Prior to joining Alinma Investment in 2018, Thamer held different executive positions in asset management and investment operations in different companies, including Arab National Bank and Falcom Financial Services. Thamer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from King Saud University.

Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Saud Balghonaim is responsible for all of the company’s financial functions, including accounting and proprietary investment. His career spans more than 15 years of varied experience in financial accounting. Prior to joining Alinma Investment in 2018, Saud held different executive positions in financial accounting in different companies, including Ernest and Young (EY), Saudi Hollandi Capital, and Ashmore Investment. Saud holds Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from King Saud University and a Master’s degree in Operation and Project Management from Southern New Hampshire University.

Chief investment Banking Officer

His career spans more than 25 years of extensive experience in financial advisory, corporate finance, private equity, M&A transactions, and business/debt restructuring. Prior to joining Alinma Investment in 2020, Mohammad served as Managing Director of Investment Banking for Saudi Kuwaiti Finance House and FALCOM Financial Services. Earlier in his career, Mohammad held different positions in the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) and Jordan's Social Security Investment Fund. Also, Mohammad served as a board member in several companies in Saudi Arabia and Jordan. Mohammad holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics & Statistics from Jordan University, a Master's degree in Corporate Finance from the University of Salford in the UK, and a CFA Charterholder from the CFA Institute in the USA.

Chief Business Development Officer

As Chief Business Development Officer, Abdulaziz AlYabes is responsible for all of the company’s business development functions, including strategy, business development, investment management advisory, brokerage, wealth management, and marketing. His career spans more than 12 years of varied experience in financial management, business leadership, and corporate strategy. Prior to joining Alinma Investment in 2020, Abdulaziz served as General Manager for Business Development for Riyadh Airports. Before that, he served as Income Generating Funds Unit Manager for Alinma Investment. Earlier in his career, Abdulaziz held different positions in investment banking companies, including Deutsche Securities Saudi Arabia, Credit Suisse Saudi Arabia, as well as working with Capital Market Authority. Abdulaziz holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Portland State University in the United States.

Chief Alternative Investments Officer

As Chief Alternative Investments Officer, Sultan Alkusayer is responsible for all of the company’s alternative investments functions, including Real Estate and Private Equity. His career spans more than 10 years of varied experience in investment management. Prior to joining Alinma Investment in 2014, Sultan served as Portfolio Manager for Swicorp. Before that, he served as Portfolio Manager for BLOMINVEST. Sultan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, and Economics from Villanova University in the United States.

Chief Operating Officer

As Chief Operating Officer, Abdullah AlHussaini is responsible for all of the company’s operations and support functions, including investment operations, information technology, custody, and customer care. His career spans more than 20 years of varied experience in operations. Prior to joining Alinma Investment in 2008, Abdullah served at the operations department for Bank Albilad and Samba Financial Group. Abdullah holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University.

Chief Asset Management

Chief Asset Management, Zaki Alawami is responsible for all of the company’s asset management functions, including portfolio investment and buy-side research. His career spans more than 14 years of varied experience in portfolio investment and buy-side research. Prior to joining Alinma Investment in 2013, Zaki served at portfolio investment and buy-side research departments for Global Investment House and Saudi Kuwaiti Finance House. Zaki holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. Zaki has also attended multiple strategy-level courses in prestigious institutions like Harvard Business School and INSEAD.

Chief Human Capital and Administration Officer

As Chief Human Capital and Administration Officer, Saeed Alqhtani is responsible for all of the company’s HR and Admin functions. His career spans more than 20 years of varied experience in HR management and administration. Prior to joining Alinma in 2008, Saeed served as Personnel Senior Manager, Assistant GM HC, and Head of Performance Management and Talent Management for Alinma Bank. Before that, he served as HR and Admin Manager for Alhamrani Universal. Saeed holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information and Libraries from King Saud University in Riyadh. Saeed is also a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD in the UK.
